I agree. Why thousands are in awe for this very uninspired 1970’s design is beyond me.

If it came at a $500 price point from a micro brand, I’d say why not, to each their own.

The Travel Time is a fantastic complication! I can definitely see the appeal for frequent flyers or those who work with international clients. For me, though, I prioritize a clean and simple aesthetic. The classic 5164 just hits the spot.

Yeah, Patek service times are definitely a pain point. Here are a few things to consider. While Patek service centers can take a long time, there are reputable independent watchmakers specializing in servicing Pateks. They might offer a quicker turnaround, though it’s crucial to choose one with a proven track record.

Building a relationship with an Authorized Patek Philippe Boutique can sometimes help expedite service requests. They might prioritize your watch based on your purchase history.

You can always try a SPECHT&SOHNE homage. I did it, I am not wealthy enough to afford an original.

I totally agree! The Aquanaut is such a breath of fresh air in the Patek lineup. While I adore the Nautilus, the Aquanaut feels more versatile and goes with a wider range of outfits. The rubber strap is a game-changer for comfort too. Did you have a specific reference in mind, like the 5164A or the new 5164G with the white gold case?
