Maybe now the Aquaracer can get METAS because being a COSC certified watch is a prerequisite to get a METAS certificate. Then it's a matter of submitting the watch where it must then pass a series of additional, exceptionally rigorous tests, over a ten day period.

That's not the reason why these can't be METAS certified. You see, it's reserved for watches with movements produced entirely in-house and that meet Omega's strict anti-magnetic standards. TAG Heuer's movements, though COSC certified, are developed in collaboration with Sellita, which means they don't meet the specific requirements for METAS certification.

Yes, I notice the Seamaster shape combined with a Lake Suwa-like dial.

I echo this, clean lines everywhere else, then bam! Magnifying glass. Just wish they'd kept it a bit more minimal.

It can be tricky for Tag but possible. COSC certification is all about is like a badge of honor for watches that can keep time really well, staying within just -4 to +6 seconds a day. So far only Omega and Tudor who enjoy the honor of METAS. The Aquaracer watches got the COSC thumbs up. But getting the METAS nod means jumping through more hoops, like passing tests from the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology. It's a whole other ball game, and TH might not be playing that one with the Aquaracer line just yet.
