I think if it’s your first ‘serious’ watch you should maybe consider something with more water resistance, 50m means it’s basically okay to be splashed when washing your hands but won’t be suitable for full on submergence on a regular basis. Maybe a Seamaster Aqua Terra or Seamaster 300 (not the Diver 300m) would suit better, unless you have a G Shock or something to throw on before going for a dip.

Okay, your points seem to conflict now. You seemed to want a higher beat movement, which could end up incorporating more components thereby making it thicker, but also want a thinner watch?

That point doesn’t matter that much in all honesty as you’re quite right regarding extra components, Omega’s Co-Axial escapement adds extra components anyway so undoubtedly extra thickness, although I don’t have any statistics on that.
