Who cares what Heisenberg was wearing in Breaking Bad? He's far from a role model.

I have a feeling that some of you don’t even read the article and just glanced at the headline and jump straight to the comments section… Well for the uninitiated, the 2024 F1 championship is currently ongoing and the Las Vegas Grand Prix just recently happened on Saturday. Tag Heuer has sponsored the driver Max Verstappen and his team, Red Bull. The Vegas race happened on Saturday, now just two more Grand Prix remaining, Qatar GP on 1st Dec and Abu Dhabi GP on 8th.

The whole idea to "create" a watch capturing the spirit of Las Vegas is to create a sporty, colorful, "flashy", fun piece that screams excitement and over-the-top energy. Think bright lights, bold designs, maybe even something playful or outrageous like integrating dice, cards, or neon inspired patterns. Vegas is all about making a statement, not just slapping on a color and calling it a day!

I largely agree with that, however a few years ago I modded my SKX in such a manner that the dial resembled a cards table (green with sunburst) and the two-tone bezel around it in black and red really gave it a cards table aesthetic.

It was a fun project, and it made me appreciate how small design choices can evoke a specific theme or feel. Maybe TAG Heuer could have incorporated more elements like playing card motifs or roulette wheel designs to really capture the essence of Vegas.
