NASA and SpaceX aren't "better" than one another. SpaceX are nibbler, motivated to reduce costs, can adapt and learn faster and will ultimately reduce costs. The actual answer is that SpaceX and NASA are not competing with each other. NASA has always used private companies to build stuff, we have just got to the stage that these private companies can now build entire rockets using technology that NASA invented 40 years ago.

Hahaaha, oh man, that's epic! Rolex, the 'it doesn't just tell time, it tells history' brand, couldn't even survive NASA's tests! And twice, no less! I mean, come on, if you're gonna claim to be the kind of watches that can handle anything, you should at least be able to handle a little space travel! Omega for the win, I guess!

Portugieser had a release recently? A movement upgrade + display caseback for the chrono, new auto 40, ppc 42, boutique editions, updated yacht club?

Wow, that's crazy! I had no idea the Rolex had such problems. I guess Omega really is the king of space watches.

I just think it's crazy to already have non government agencies working on science in space.

This got me thinking that if these IWC watches were worn during the entire training regimen; through mountain climbing, scuba diving, fighter jet flights, and everything else, then that would really prove their durability. It would be amazing to know that these watches not only survived the harshness of space but also the intense training on Earth. That would seriously solidify their toughness and make them even more special!
