We never know. Worrying about “leaks” has proven foolish every year. Speculating on what would be cool or trying to guess is fun and interesting. Fine line between the two sometimes, but we won’t actually know until 4/9

You’re definitely not alone in your frustration about Omega skipping W&W. It does feel like a missed opportunity, especially with all the excitement surrounding the Speedmaster with the Spirate system.

You’re right, a year has passed since the announcement and we’re still waiting. Omega’s press releases haven’t exactly been on a predictable schedule since the Swatch Group left Baselworld, as Harlan pointed out they weren’t at SIHH either.

Here’s the good news: just because they’re not at W&W doesn’t mean they won’t have any announcements soon. Omega operates on its own timeline, and they might still surprise us with a Speedmaster release in the coming months.

That’s a good question and to answer it I’m going to go against the grain here by saying that it’s not worth the cost for you, in my opinion. The public tickets for W&W are quite expensive, plus if you need to consider travel and accommodation expenses then that quickly adds up. Geneva is one of the biggest and priciest cities located in one of the most expensive countries you could possibly visit and you’ll be paying for that all the time you’re there.

If it currently seems a bit expensive for you then don’t do it, a trip to a dealer is always free and you don’t have to buy anything while you’re there, you can leave an authorised dealer at any time. You would be able to try on the watches there, I believe. I don’t know how it works for the public but some brands might require an appointment. In my view, you’re better off saving your money and buying the actual watch, that’s more important than immersing yourself over a couple of days and maybe showing off some knowledge to people who’ve been hearing it all week from folks in the press, the dealerships and the VIP guests who get priority over the public.

To conclude, if you’re local or fairly local (i.e. within day-tripping distance) then it might be worth it, if you have to do more than that like book flights or overnight accommodation I would avoid W&W, it happens every year anyway. Don’t forget to follow our Instagram page as well!
